The short version

Docket & Device takes no money from the companies it covers. No affiliate links. No sponsored posts. No ads. If that ever changes, this page changes first — before any paid relationship begins, not after.

The rules

1. No affiliate links. You will not find a link on this site that pays us when you click it or buy through it.
2. Rankings and verdicts are never for sale. No vendor can pay to be ranked higher, reviewed better, or left out of a verdict.
3. No sponsored content. We do not publish paid posts, "partner content," or anything a vendor paid to place — labeled or otherwise. Sponsored content is banned outright on this site, not managed.
4. No undisclosed anything. If a paid relationship ever exists in the future, it is disclosed on the page, next to the links, in plain language — never buried, never three clicks deep.
5. No ads inside verdicts or comparison tables. There are no display ads on this site at all: no pop-ups, no interstitials, no auto-play anything, nothing that breaks the page on a phone.

Why this strict

This site exists because of the gap between what legal-tech vendors spend to be believed and what practitioners actually trust. The hype audit's verdict was "Overhyped." The most common thing lawyers say about this market is that nobody will tell them the price. A site that takes vendors' money cannot report on vendors honestly — so it doesn't.

If the money ever changes

Revenue must never change an editorial verdict. A single instance is a policy violation, not a judgment call. Any change to this policy is published here first, dated, with the previous version kept on record.
